Cameo Shell Stitch Shawl

Oh, oh, oh, am I ever excited! My first knitalong so be gentle and patient with me. I don't have any pictures to share this evening but I will give a brief description.
I am working on making my way through my stash (closet) and found my bag of Knit Picks shine worsted coral yarn. The reason I have some Knit Picks yarn is a separate issue altogether as I always try to support my LYS. But in a moment of weakness, I ordered this inexpensive yarn and then never did anything with it. If it bombs, I will donate it and move on. I don't have a good feeling but I am going to give it a try.
The pattern is the Cameo Shell Stitch shawl from Crystal Palace Yarns http://straw.com/cpy/patterns/scarves/cameo-shawl.html. I plan on wearing it in the office because I have co-workers experiencing meno....um, power surges.
Will update soon and can't wait to see everyone else's choices.

Cute pattern. Trust me, we all have less expensive yarns in our stash and they can work out just fine. I'm still vacilating on my pattern. I love wraps but also like something that stays on the shoulders with a minimum of fiddling. Hm.....

I like the pattern you've picked. And I know well that less expensive yarns can surprise you in very nice ways. Looks like you're going to have a good start.

I like the pattern you have chosen. I love the shell border and I'm sure it will look lovely in the yarn you have chosen.

I think you will find that you like the yarn. I used it for two sweaters for grandsons and It was great to work with! It really has a nice feel, too.

BTW, don't feel guilty--I do all I can to support my LYS's AND catalog AND online sources!!!
